Position Summary

The Web Editor works as part of the Web Services team and is primarily responsible for supporting the Intranet and the Wiki.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Respond to requests for the upkeep and development of the firm Intranet and Wiki and make decisions as to posted content
  • Assist users at all technical and organizational levels with using and/or editing the firm’s Intranet and Wiki
  • Collaborate closely with content owners (Managers, Lawyers, and Administrators) who need assistance in planning, organizing and editing their areas of content across the Intranet and/or Wiki
  • Design/construct Intranet and Wiki pages to meet user needs (both standard “out of the box” pages and HTML pages)
  • Work closely with the Information Systems Development team to brand specialized standards-based web applications
  • Work with other members of Information Systems to address software and hardware rollouts/upgrades including planning, testing, scheduling, pilot testing, solicitation of user feedback and compilation of same, training, support, monitoring, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and/or support both Intranet and Wiki issues and escalate when necessary
  • Track/manage the individual’s own tasks and keep the group Wiki updated with respect to the individual’s project statuses
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Fundamental comprehension of client-server and web application architecture
  • Proficiency in XML, HTML, and CSS
  • Familiarity with AJAX
  • Proficient in JavaScript
  • Knowledge of ECMA Script 5 and 6
  • Understanding of full text indexing concepts, particularly Lucene
  • Quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to handle a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Ensure confidentiality of all the Firm’s documentation and information, including client confidential information
Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of two years’ experience interfacing with technical teams in the areas of software and systems development
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in using any content management system
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management and/or an Information Systems concentration is preferable
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 - $140,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
