Director, Business Intelligence
Monday through Friday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm (overtime as required)
The Business Intelligence team supports the firm across a broad spectrum of activities in support of new business and client relationship-building and strategic management decision making. The Business Intelligence team’s functions include detailed client and market intelligence; strategic analysis of industry, market and geopolitical trends; predictive analytics to identify new business opportunities; and competitive intelligence.
The Coordinator, Internal Data Research and Competitor Analysis serves as the primary researcher of internal firm data within the Business Intelligence Team. This role focuses on identifying and analyzing internal connections, such as CRM records in InterAction and client or matter relationships in the Matter Database, while also gathering critical intelligence on law firm competitors. By conducting this research, the Coordinator plays a vital role in improving data quality and improving the accuracy and completeness of internal records. These efforts directly support the firm’s strategic decision-making and business development initiatives.
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serve as the primary resource for larger-scale InterAction CRM and the Firm’s Matter Database research tasks, ensuring thorough and accurate data analysis.
- As part of this research, review and update contact records as necessary.
- Tasks will include identifying firm contacts on conference attendee lists and exploring pathways for business development.
- Support competitive intelligence efforts by compiling and analyzing datasets from law firm websites and external research tools, such as Leopard, ALM Law.com Compass, and Chambers.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team and other Business Services groups to update, refine, and enhance data quality to support firm strategy and business development initiatives.
- Assist in designing and executing searches, reports, and analyses for Business Development initiatives, enabling informed client and prospect research.
- Lead InterAction and Matter Database research training sessions and establish best practices for data entry and management for administrative assistants and Business Development team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes for data maintenance and lead and execute improvements to workflows.
- Special projects, as assigned by the Business Intelligence Director and Senior Manager.
- Skilled in use of Microsoft Excel (including data organization, charts, and pivot tables)

- Passion for client services, teaching best practices, and sharing the value of proper research methods and marketing technology
- Keen interest in researching and improving data and leveraging technology to increase efficiencies and improve internal processes
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-3 years of experience working in a professional services environment preferred
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 - $80,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
