Position Summary

The Coordinator of PR and Communications will work collaboratively with other members of the PR & Communications team and the Business Development department to support the firm’s global PR strategy.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Draft various content, including external announcements and write-ups for the firm’s website
  • Field and research press inquiries
  • Monitor, compile and distribute to firm leadership news coverage of the firm
  • Develop media lists for distribution of firm news
  • Assist with media outreach around firm news
  • Distribute press releases over wire services
  • Research opportunities for and facilitating placement of bylined articles
  • Manage article reprint process
  • Draft award and survey submissions
  • Prepare reports of media relations activity
  • Assist with various other research projects
  • Ensure consistency with the firm’s brand and editorial guidelines across materials 
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Exemplary writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent judgment and discretion
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to form effective working relationships with individuals at all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle and appropriately prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Self-starter with an excellent work ethic 
Education and/or Experience

1-2 years of experience in PR/media relations/corporate communications. Law firm or other professional services firm preferred.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, media/public relations, marketing or a related field

Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 - $90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
