Position Summary

The Manager, HRIS will manage the firm’s HR systems while responsible for the supervision and management of HRIS professionals.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage daily HRIS operations including general production support for HR, employees and managers
  • Manage the prioritization of a variety of HRIS projects, implementations, enhancements and additional HR systems activities
  • Consistently develop recommendations to further evolve HR systems by maximizing capabilities through optimization, automation and streamlining of HR systems and processes
  • Directly manage HRIS team resources, including ongoing performance and development activities
  • Maintain a full understanding of Davis Polk HR systems, business processes, data model, and general organizational management
  • Partner regularly with cross-functional COEs including Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, ER/Compliance, Finance, IT and additional teams.
  • Collaborate closely on the planning, requirements gathering, scoping, design, prioritization, execution and overall successful delivery of HRIS related projects and tasks
  • Manage current and future system releases including core capabilities and feature sets
  • Ensure ongoing data governance and integrity while leveraging data and reports to identify areas of opportunity, reduce risk and increase compliance through audits and automation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve HRIS defects, research business processes, recommend solutions or alternatives, and perform a variety of scheduled and cyclical HRIS activities
  • Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system projects, enhancements and issues
  • Partner with IT on projects, application upgrades/fixes, and day to day business support related to HR integrations, interfaces and data transmissions
  • Manage the delivery of instructions, training, and support for employees, managers, and HR, while developing user procedures, guidelines, and documentation for current and future activities
  • Contribute toward the ongoing development of HR service delivery to effectively manage and govern HRIS operations and support activities
  • Contribute toward the design, development and management of HR reporting capabilities, including the delivery of standard and ad hoc reports, data driven insights and HR analytics
  • Partner with HR technology vendors and professional services as needed by improving partnerships and maximizing ROI
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Strong management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, including standard and complex projects and tasks
  • Must have strong functional skills, including Workday configuration experience
  • Effective organizational, time management and communication skills, including ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to work as part of a team of professionals, manage employees and any employee matters that could arise
  • Problem-solving skills are essential, as the HRIS Manager must be able to identify and resolve any problems that arise across HR systems
  • Acute attention to details with ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Ensure confidentiality of all the Firm’s and clients documentation and information
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Information Systems, Human Resources Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in HRIS, including systems implementations, administration, and HRIS team management
  • Prior experience working within Human Resources required
  • Prior experience with hands-on Workday configuration required
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $160,000 - $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
