Position Summary

The Senior Coordinator will collaborate with partners and lawyers in the Finance Practice Group to provide comprehensive business development support for all disciplines within the practice, including leveraged and investment-grade finance, direct lending, structured capital, and fund finance.

Working closely with the Senior Manager, the Senior Coordinator will help drive and implement various initiatives aimed at generating new business and expanding market share. This includes assisting in the creation and maintenance of new business proposals and marketing collateral, submission to league tables and legal directories, upkeep of matter experience databases, conducting competitive and market intelligence, and coordinating conferences and sponsorships.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of pitchbooks, RFP responses, placemats, experience lists and other client/prospect marketing materials and track opportunity outcomes
  • Maintain, update and grow the suite of practice marketing materials and lawyer biographies
  • Assist with league table submissions and contribute to efficiently mine data and improve data collection
  • Coordinate the scheduling and submission of legal directories, awards and related industry guides (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR)
  • Assist with identifying, planning and managing sponsorships and practice participation in conferences and industry events
  • Coordinate with the PR & Communications and Digital Marketing teams to promote and raise the visibility of the practice and its lawyers through external communications on the Firm’s website and social media
  • Process daily deals and cases (D&Cs) to ensure proper content assembly, formatting and timely submission
  • Conduct comprehensive research of the Firm’s syndicated and direct lending transactions across a wide range of industries, geographies, and transaction types using a variety of internal and external databases and research platforms
  • Assist with the preparation of internal practice review presentations, including year-in-reviews, annual partner meetings and offsites
  • Assist with competitive and market intelligence research, used to update lawyers on peer firms and market trends and developments
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate and engage at all organizational levels
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and process
  • Proficient in critical thinking and data analysis, with the ability to research, synthesize and present complex information clearly
  • Intellectually curious, resourceful, and results-oriented, with a strong commitment to team success and a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve objectives
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and competing deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Working knowledge and understanding of leveraged finance, private credit, M&A and private equity is preferred
  • Experience with CRM (e.g., InterAction), experience management software (e.g., ContentPilot) and financial data research platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Debtwire, KBRA DLD, LSEG Data & Analytics, PitchBook and S&P Capital IQ) is highly desirable
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, economics or marketing
  • 2-4 years of experience in legal marketing and business development or other relevant professional services experience
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 - $90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
