Arbitration victory for state-owned oil company
We secured a full victory following an ICC arbitration
Davis Polk successfully defended a state-owned oil company facing claims of fraud and prevailed on counterclaims in a post-M&A arbitration pending in the ICC International Court of Arbitration (ICC). The dispute arose out of the sale of certain South American assets. The matter involved hundreds of millions of dollars of claims and was decided favorably for our client after a full evidentiary hearing.
The Davis Polk team included partner Frances E. Bivens, former counsel Adam Mehes, associates Brendan A. Blase, Dana Z. Horowitz and Sean Stefanik and former associates Todd A. Costa and Daniel Moubayed. All members of the Davis Polk team are based in the New York office.
