Digicel Group $1.85 billion sale of Pacific operations to Telstra

Davis Polk is advising Digicel Group Holdings Limited on the sale of Digicel Pacific Limited for up to $1.85 billion, its wholly owned subsidiary, to a subsidiary of Telstra Corporation Limited. The transaction, which remains subject to customary government and regulatory approvals, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
Digicel is an international mobile phone network and home entertainment provider operating in over 33 markets across the Caribbean, Central America and Oceania regions. DPL operates in six markets in the South Pacific including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu, Tonga and Nauru. Telstra is a leading global telecommunications and technology company with a proudly Australian heritage.
