Shearman & Sterling merger with Allen & Overy
We are advising Shearman & Sterling on the transaction
Davis Polk is advising Shearman & Sterling on its merger with Allen & Overy to create a global law firm named Allen Overy Shearman Sterling – A&O Shearman for short. The proposed merger is subject to customary closing conditions, including a vote of the partners of each firm.
Together A&O Shearman will have approximately 3,900 lawyers and 800 partners across 49 offices and approximately $3.4 billion in combined revenues.
The Davis Polk corporate team includes partners William H. Aaronson and Lee Hochbaum and counsel Albert Zhu. Partner Jennifer S. Conway and counsel Daniel P. Herrmann are providing executive compensation advice. Partner Michael Mollerus is providing tax advice. All members of the Davis Polk team are based in the New York office.
