Davis Polk advised the joint bookrunners on the equity offering of common shares of Via Varejo S.A. for an aggregate amount of approximately R$4.5 billion (approximately $860 million). The common shares trade on the São Paulo Stock Exchange. Common shares sold in the international offering were placed under Rule 144A and Regulation S.

Via Varejo is Brazil’s leading retailer of consumer electronics, home appliances, mobile phones and furniture, which are distributed through Casas Bahia and Pontofrio stores located throughout Brazil as well as through online sales channels.
