Davis Polk partner Cheryl Chan was quoted in the American Lawyer on her predictions for M&A deal activity in 2023. Cheryl noted that she sees a difficult start for M&A work this year. “The regulatory environment is more challenging for M&A now,” Cheryl explained. “The DOJ is litigating more transactions. It hasn’t affected the willingness to do deals yet, but people are being more careful about provisions and remedies. If the regulatory environment changes further, it could become more challenging to get some of these deals done.”
