Davis Polk counsel David Zilberberg discussed the SEC’s climate disclosure and sustainability reporting requirements with Diligent. In March, the SEC adopted final rules for public companies that mandate significant new disclosures relating to climate-related risks, Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and climate-related financial metrics.

“There is certainly a lot of ramping up that companies are going to have to do to meet the new requirements and prepare for sustainability reports to face more scrutiny,” David explained.
