Davis Polk held a corporate legal clinic in partnership with Start Small Think Big, a nonprofit that helps small businesses with high potential and limited access to the resources needed to create thriving businesses. From October 13-21, Davis Polk teams met with under-resourced NYC small business owners and provided counsel in the areas of entity formation, corporate governance and intellectual property. A diverse range of clients participated, including a new bakery in Brooklyn and a family-run auto repair shop in Queens. By the end of the consultations, each client was able to gain clarity on the legal issues affecting their businesses and had next steps laid out to remedy them.

The Davis Polk team included Head of Corporate & Transactional Pro Bono Nancy Marchand, counsel Lisa Ogust, Pro Bono Attorney for Corporate & Transactional Matters Harshil Shukla, associates Mikaela Dealissia, ChengJun Koh, Andrew Lent, Andrew Lindsay, Maggie Mantel, Kendra L. Sandidge, Alexander Simmonds, law clerks Vincent Cahill, Lucas Fenyves, Jilly Fox, Emma Himes, Jamie Hwang, Catrell Jewel, Maria Lucia Passador, Jessica Poggi, Rahul Srivastava, Anthony Tran, trainee solicitor Alex Jewkes and Pro Bono Senior Legal Assistant Mya Gelber.
