Davis Polk holds Spanish-language workshop for small business owners
Davis Polk, in partnership with Start Small Think Big, conducted a webinar workshop in Spanish on February 9, 2023 for small business owners in the New York City community. The presentation, titled “Introducción a Entidades Empresariales para Pequeñas y Medianas Empresas,” outlined the various types of legal structures available when formally incorporating a business and the process of doing so, the implications and potential benefits of limited liability entities, as well as related tax considerations. Over 30 business owners participated, ranging from individuals who run restaurants to someone starting their own waste removal company. This presentation was created in collaboration with Davis Polk’s Hispanic/Latin American affinity group. The Davis Polk team included counsel Christopher Baratta, Pro Bono Attorney for Corporate & Transactional Matters Harshil Shukla and associate Juan Diego Tibaduiza. Jacqueline Berkanstaft also participated.
