The New York Times recently profiled Greg Andres, who in June will return to Davis Polk as a litigation partner in New York. From August 2017 to March 2019, Andres was a member of the Special Counsel’s Office in Washington DC, investigating Russian government efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election and related matters. He served as the lead trial lawyer in the successful prosecution of Paul Manafort in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The profile also highlights Andres’ work at the Justice Department, where from 1999 to 2012 he served in a variety of senior positions, including Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice and Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

Neil MacBride, co-chair of Davis Polk’s White Collar Criminal Defense and Government Investigations Group, is quoted in the Times article regarding the unique skills and experience Andres brings to the firm. 

At Davis Polk, Andres will focus on counseling boards and representing clients in white collar criminal and regulatory investigations, as well as in civil and criminal trials.
