Partner Nicole Brookshire discussed her move to Davis Polk’s Capital Markets practice and why she made the switch with the American Lawyer. 

“The lull in the cap markets was a great enabler for me,” Nicole explained. “I could not have considered a move in a flush market, as it would have been too disruptive. I’m a client-first person.”

She also noted that disruptions, such as massive market transitions, can “create immense opportunity and open doors if you look.”

In addition to being a strong cultural fit with Davis Polk, Nicole said the firm’s onboarding process and administrative resources allowed her to focus on what was most important to her – her clients. “All the little details, all the behind-the-scenes mechanics. It’s a sophistication and elegance that takes years of development,” she added.
