Paul Spagnoletti quoted in Law360 on New York rule allowing for remote trials
Davis Polk partner and Civil Litigation practice co-head Paul Spagnoletti was quoted in Law360 on Rule 36, New York’s new rule giving consenting litigants the option to participate in evidentiary hearings and nonjury trials remotely. Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence K. Marks signed off on the rule in October. Paul welcomes this as a “commonsense reform” and sees it as a way to begin clearing the backlog of cases caused by COVID-19.
