Davis Polk counsel Samuel Kang was named among Law.com International’s inaugural list of “Private Equity Rising Stars: 10 Lawyers in Asia to Watch.” The profile noted Samuel’s relationship with alternative asset management firm TPG. Law.com International also highlighted his advice on several Korean transactions, including Naver Financial Corporation’s participation in the $25 million Series B equity financing round of TBCASoft, Inc, an American firm that develops blockchain technology; Korea-listed JB Financial Group Co.’s $16 million acquisition of Morgan Stanley Gateway Securities J.S.C.; and Comcast Spectator’s joint venture with Korea’s largest mobile operator, SK Telecom, to form a global e-sports business team in 2020.
