The American Lawyer has named Davis Polk partners Will Pearce and Tom Reid among its 2019 “Dealmakers of the Year.” London-based Pearce and New York-based Reid are recognized for their role advising Comcast on its $40 billion acquisition of Sky plc. Over a nine-month period, Comcast and 21st Century Fox publicly competed for control of Sky, and following a rare weekend auction supervised by the U.K. Takeover Panel, Comcast emerged the victor.

The American Lawyer’s “Dealmakers of the Year” highlights lawyers who worked on 2018’s most complex and complicated deals, including “mergers that will reshape industries.” This year’s honorees are featured in the magazine’s April 2019 issue.
