On May 10 and 11, 2023, Davis Polk partner and Tax head David Schnabel and partner Corey Goodman will be among the speakers at the Practising Law Institute’s “Tax Planning for Domestic & Foreign Partnerships, LLCs, Joint Ventures & Other Strategic Alliances 2023” program.

Corey will speak on the “Distressed Partnerships (Including Bankruptcy and CARES Act)” panel on May 10. Topics to be discussed will include the complexities that arise when a distressed borrower is a partnership, including the various types of restructuring transactions that can have very different effects on different partners.

David will speak on the “Topside Planning for Passthrough Investments by Private Equity Funds” panel on May 11. Topics discussed will include topside planning for private equity investments, including the myriad passthrough, cross-border and other issues involved, including UBTI, ECI, FIRPTA, sovereign investors (Section 892), and exit planning.
