Davis Polk lawyers speak at ABA’s 2025 International Law Section Conference
On April 30 – May 1, 2025, Davis Polk partner and Antitrust & Competition practice co-head Art Burke, partner Nate Asker and counsel Bill Hochul will be among the speakers at the American Bar Association’s 2025 International Law Section Conference.
Art will speak on the “How to Manage the Proliferation of New Rules and Policies That Create More Hurdles for Cross-Border Deals” panel. Topics discussed will include the recent expansion of rules and regulations that impose additional challenges for cross-border transactions, including new national security rules, protective tariffs and the role of antitrust law in promoting or inhibiting transnational agreements.
Nate will moderate the “Tech in the Crosshairs: Recent Antitrust Enforcement Developments” panel. Topics discussed will include monopolization litigation brought by the DOJ and FTC against several big tech firms, implementation of the EU Digital Markets Act and other legislative developments, as well as ongoing regulatory scrutiny of algorithmic pricing, AI and other emerging technologies.
Bill will speak on the “Corporate Governance and Compliance: Navigating North American Standards in a Globalized Economy” panel. Topics discussed will include the key similarities and differences in anti-corruption regulations across the U.S., Mexico and Canada, focusing on how these varying frameworks shape compliance strategies for multinational companies.
