Davis Polk partner Martin Rogers was invited to serve as a guest judge at Justice Centre Hong Kong’s first Mock Trial Experience. Ten students received training and coaching from legal professionals and then appeared as either an expert witness or lawyer in a simulation of a hearing in front of the Torture Claims Appeal Board/ Non-refoulement Claims Petition Office. The trial was “judged” by a panel of lawyers that included Martin.

The Mock Trial Experience took place in October 2021. This program is a new initiative from the Justice Centre aiming to deliver interactive human rights education to secondary school students in Hong Kong.
