Position Summary

We are a premier international law firm headquartered in New York, currently seeking an Alumni Relations Coordinator with strong interpersonal, organizational and technological skills to assist with the development and operation of a firm-wide alumni relations program.

This position will work directly with the Head of Alumni Relations to track and keep up-to-date information on Davis Polk alumni, draft and post content to the firm’s alumni website including alumni career opportunities, coordinate the exit process for departing attorneys, and assist with the implementation of alumni events and CLE programs. The ideal candidate should have at least two years’ experience in the professional services industry and be comfortable working with large amounts of data using computer programs.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Regularly research and update information for Davis Polk alumni in the firm’s marketing database program, utilizing LinkedIn and news reports.
  • Regularly prepare lists of alumni by location, industry, practice group, etc.
  • Maintain content on the alumni website, including articles, events, photos, videos, career moves and job postings.
  • Coordinate the exit process with departing lawyers, including post-departure follow up.
  • Collaborate with the Events Team, the firm’s internal Conference Services Department and external venues/vendors to plan and execute alumni events.
  • Coordinate the creation, distribution and analytics tracking of quarterly alumni newsletters.
  • Maintain information about the Davis Polk alumni program in both printed collateral and the firm internal intranet.
  • Assist with outreach efforts to alumni - curating opportunities for spotlight articles, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Assist with new alumni initiatives.
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • The ideal candidate is polished, creative, organized, tech savvy and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written) skills, and computer skills are fundamental.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, alumni, partners, attorneys, and staff at all professional levels to help implement the firm’s alumni program.
  • Highly professional demeanor, good judgment and can work autonomously.
  • Law firm and/or financial or professional services experience preferred.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of two years’ experience, preferably involving marketing, communications, or website design/application in a professional environment.
  • Events experience a plus, such as handling logistics related to roundtables, webinars and receptions.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge of Contact Relationship Management systems a plus. 
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 - $75,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
