Position Summary

The Awards & Recognition Manager will be responsible for increasing the visibility and recognition of the firm, our practices and our lawyers, through oversight of the firm’s award submissions program.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the firm’s participation in award and survey submissions to a range of publications (e.g., AmLaw, Law360) across practice areas and regions
  • Interview partners in order to write engaging and compelling nominations that will best position the firm and our lawyers for recognition opportunities
  • Draft award nominations and review and edit nominations prepared by other team members
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant editors and reporters
  • Evaluate and advise on potential new opportunities for recognition
  • Prepare partners for award-related interviews
  • Collaborate with colleagues in PR & Communications and Business Development to identify individuals and matters to put forward in submissions
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to leverage wins to further the firm’s business development goals
  • Analyze award results in order to provide feedback and recommendations for improving future submissions
  • Identify and implement best practices to increase/improve the firm’s performance in awards
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously and to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Proactive approach with ability to initiate and manage projects
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to form effective working relationships with individuals at all levels
Education and/or Experience
  • 3-5 years minimum of relevant experience in a submissions role, preferably in the legal industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 - $225,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
