Director, Systems Engineering
Monday through Friday; various shifts as assigned (additional hours as required; flexible schedules, weekends and after-hours availability necessary at times).
Systems Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining all aspects of the Firm’s IT infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing enterprise environments, both on prem and in Microsoft cloud, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and optimizing system performance with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance standards.
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Advanced expertise in administering and troubleshooting Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, VMWare, and Windows 10/11. RHEL experience a plus.
- Proven track record as a strong Systems Administrator including Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, VMWare, Microsoft PKI, MS ADFS, Infoblox DNS, DHCP.
- Experience administering enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange on prem (2016 or later) and Exchange Online administration.
- Current experience as administrator in Microsoft Cloud platforms (Azure, EntraID, M365).
- Experience with Cisco ESA (Ironport) or similar email hygiene products preferred.
- Familiarity with InTune MDM preferred.
- Configuring and troubleshooting core services including DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc.
- Knowledge of networking concepts (firewalls, VPNs, switches, DNS, load balancers). Citrix Netscaler experience a plus.
- Web server administration experience (IIS, Apache, Tomcat) preferred.
- Working closely with IS Operations and Networking to achieve optimal performance of supported technologies.
- Strong scripting ability (PowerShell, Python, Shell) for automation.
- Quarterly participation in weekly 24/7 on-call rotation.
Very strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong ability to create and maintain detailed system documentation. In addition, must be a creative thinker with proven problem-solving ability. Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative flat organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- 10+ years related experience required
- Experience at a large law firm or professional services organization strongly preferred
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $180,000 - $200,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
