IHS Markit sells Base Chemicals business to News Corp

Davis Polk is advising IHS Markit in connection with its $295 million sale of IHS Markit’s Base Chemicals business to News Corp. This transaction represents continued progress toward completing the pending merger of S&P Global and IHS Markit. The transaction is expected to be completed following and conditioned upon the closing of the merger between S&P Global and IHS Markit, which is expected in the first quarter of 2022, and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.
