VF $1.5 billion sale of Supreme to EssilorLuxottica

Davis Polk is advising VF Corporation on its $1.5 billion sale of the Supreme brand to EssilorLuxottica. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2024, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
Founded in 1899, VF Corporation is one of the world’s largest apparel, footwear and accessories companies connecting people to the lifestyles, activities and experiences they cherish most through a family of iconic outdoor, active and workwear brands, including Vans, The North Face, Timberland and Dickies.
Supreme is a global streetwear brand founded by James Jebbia in New York City in April 1994. The Supreme brand runs a digital-first business and 17 stores in the United States, Asia and Europe.
EssilorLuxottica is a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, frames and sunglasses. Formed in 2018 by the combination of Essilor and Luxottica, EssilorLuxottica is home to some of the most widely recognized vision care and eyewear brands in the world, including Ray-Ban and Oakley, as well as world-class retail brands like Sunglass Hut and LensCrafters.
