The supercycle: Where regional bank boards should focus
Starling Compendium
Davis Polk partner and Financial Institutions practice head Margaret Tahyar authored “The supercycle: Where regional bank boards should focus” in Starling’s 2024 Compendium. In the chapter, Margaret discusses the current “supercycle” – including new regulations, revised guidance, enhanced supervision, and uncertainty created by litigation against the agencies – that mid-size and regional banking organizations must contend with. She sets out the context of the supercycle and suggests what a banking organization can do to keep its house in order, including by avoiding formal or informal enforcement actions and maintaining strong, healthy community and supervisory relationships.
