Tighter Circuit Breakers in Equities Markets
The stock markets have proposed to tighten the market-wide circuit breakers that halt trading in the equity markets. The proposals were prompted, in large part, by the May 6, 2010 Flash Crash and were heavily influenced by recommendations of the Joint CFTC-SEC Advisory Committee on Emerging Regulatory Issues.
