At the 2023 Chambers USA Awards, Davis Polk was named the “Banking Law Firm of the Year.” The Chambers USA Awards reflect preeminence in key practice areas and recognize notable achievements over the past year, including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service. This is the fourth time in eight years that Davis Polk’s finance practice has been recognized at the Chambers USA Awards.

In announcing the win, Chambers notes that Davis Polk “is renowned in the market for its incredibly strong bench and ability to handle high profile and complex matters. The group has been involved in a number of notable deals this year, including Vista Equity Partners and Elliott Investment Management’s acquisition of Citrix, as well as the financing for Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter.” Quoting a client, the write-up goes on to note, “Davis Polk & Wardwell is the representation of choice to handle complex structures or unique situations, especially if multiple jurisdictions are involved.”

In 2022, Davis Polk advised on 137 U.S. syndicated deals totaling more than $302 billion, including seven of the year’s nine largest leveraged acquisition financings. We also represented a broad range of direct lenders in numerous direct lending transactions, including unitranche, recurring revenue, and preferred equity transactions.
