Davis Polk and 10 of the firm’s lawyers were honored at the Law Society of Hong Kong’s 2022 Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Program.

Davis Polk received a Silver Award and Improvement Award in recognition of the firm’s commitment to pro bono and community service. 

In recognition of her dedication to pro bono work, associate Noble Mak was selected by the Law Society as the sole recipient of the Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award. She also received an Individual Gold Award.

The Law Society also presented Individual Gold Awards to counsel Jonathan Chang, associate Enoch Lee and law clerk David Lau. In addition, Enoch received an Improvement Award.

Associate Katy Choi received an Individual Silver Award and associate Joyce Chow received a Silver Award and Improvement Award.

Counsel Yuan Zheng, associate Jonathan Sit and trainee solicitors Janet Zhang and Alicia Thea Ho received Individual Bronze Awards.

This year, lawyers and staff from our Hong Kong office took on a range of important and impactful projects, including appellate and first-instance work with asylum-seekers and refugees in connection with non-refoulement claims and permission to work applications, and with unlawful detention claims, and providing advice to social enterprises and charities on corporate governance, contractual and regulatory issues, and due diligence.
