The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) named the chapter 11 restructuring of Murray Energy as the 2021 “Mega Company Turnaround/Transaction of the Year.” Davis Polk partners Damian Schaible and Adam Shpeen were recognized by TMA for their role representing an ad hoc group of lenders to Murray Energy in the restructuring.

The TMA Turnaround and Transaction of the Year Awards recognize restructuring professionals who have navigated complex and challenging special situations, resulting in positive outcomes that preserved value, saved jobs, and demonstrated the power of collaborative and creative efforts to achieve a positive end. The awards will be presented at the TMA Annual Conference on October 26-29, 2021, in Nashville.
