Davis Polk partner and Restructuring practice co-head Marshall Huebner was quoted in Bloomberg about Spirit Airlines’ chapter 11 restructuring. Marshall noted that business will continue as usual at the 84 airports that the airline services, and emphasized during the hearing that bondholder support for the company’s plan is so strong that in many European countries a chapter 11 equivalent would be unnecessary.

“The news stories wouldn’t have the word bankruptcy anywhere in them,” Marshall explained. “It’s sort of unfortunate that, at least as of now…the word bankruptcy really has to be anywhere in Spirit’s storyline.”
