Davis Polk partner and Real Estate practice co-head Michael Rishty was quoted in Law360 Real Estate Authority discussing President Trump’s return-to-the-office order for federal employees and its potential impact on the office sector.

Michael noted that the executive order added to a growing sense that the office market will return, to some degree. “There was fear, at points in the last five years, that the office market was at existential risk because of a significant and permanent reduction of in-office work,” he said. “That existential question has now gone away, and this is just more evidence of that.”

“It’s not going to fix the office market, but it’s reflective of a broader sense that demand for office is not going away,” Michael continued. “It’s a good sign for the future of the office market.”
