On March 21-22, 2022, Davis Polk partner Dan Stipano will be among the speakers at the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists’ (ACAMS) “Hollywood Conference.” Dan will speak on the “Priority One: Rising to the Challenges of FinCEN’s AML/CTF National Priorities” and “One and Not Done: A Progress Report on AMLA’s First Year — And Year Two’s Prospects” panels. The first panel will review FinCEN’s reasoning to designate corruption, cybercrime, terrorist financing, TCOs, drug and human trafficking, fraud and proliferation financing as national priorities. The second panel will assess progress on the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020’s key provisions on obligatory whistleblower awards and removal of payment cap for information leading to fines, penalties and forfeitures.
