On April 2-4, 2025, Davis Polk partners Sheila Adams James and Nate Asker and counsels Chris Lynch, Mary Marks, Matt Yeowart and Caroline Ziser Smith will be among the speakers at the American Bar Association’s 2025 Antitrust Spring Meeting.

Sheila is co-chair of the event and will serve as questioner on the “Enforcers’ Roundtable” discussion which will bring together top enforcers from Canada, Europe and the U.S. to discuss enforcement priorities.

Nate will speak on the “Out of Sight? Below-threshold Merger Reviews” panel. Topics discussed will include the current regulatory landscape for non-notifiable deals in Europe, the United States and beyond. 

Chris will moderate the “Revenge of Refusal to Deal?” panel. Topics discussed will include recent cases involving refusals to deal and their reception thus far.

Mary will moderate the “Not Your Parents’ HSR Regime” panel. Topics discussed will include the new HSR rule requirements and the best practices in navigating these changes on a federal and state level.

Matt will speak on the “Getting Crafty – How to Seal the Deal” panel. Topics discussed will include the shift in the merger review landscape and how it has affected the way companies approach merger filings and investigations by government agencies as well as how to craft deal strategies in an evolving merger review environment.

Caroline will speak on the “Widening the Cartel Aperture: Global Enforcement” panel, which will focus on new approaches by the DOJ compared to the EU regime and if it could be applicable under U.S. law.
