Davis Polk partners Lucy Farr and Rachel Kleinberg will be among the speakers at the American Bar Association’s 2019 May Tax Meeting.

Farr will be a speaker on the “Shop Talk: Current Financial Products Tax Issues for Hedge Funds” panel. Topics discussed will include issues that the participants are seeing in their asset management-focused financial products tax practices, including the application of section 163(d) and section 163(j), the impact of the unavailability of deductions under section 212 and various issues under section 475.

Kleinberg will be a speaker on the “Foreign Activities of US Taxpayers” panel. This session will include a discussion of dividends and current inclusions under subpart F and GILTI, as well as related implications for previously (US-taxed) or foreign-taxed earnings.

The program will be held May 9-11, 2019, in Washington DC.
